All Things Being Unequal

National income has always been a problem. For the wealthy income went up from 45.5 percent to 53.5 percent. The middle class have to pay more for health care, child care, energy, food, education, etc. Economists think there are many different factors for the divide in income globalization, tax policy, education, and technology. congress and many others have talked about the problem and the impact that it has on the middle class. They don't know what to do. They do agree that some inequality benefits the economy with intensives for hard work. Advocates say that the gap is unfairly wide. They say that government should focus on restricting trades and outsourcing, this way domestic jobs are protected and salaries are maintained. Proponents also want the government to increase taxes on the wealthy and to cut taxes for the middle class. They also want retraining programs, unemployment benefits, and wage insurance to help out the middle class. Opponents say that if they do retraining programs, etc. the business wont make as much so there would be less money to distribute. They also say that raising taxes would screw up the economy and hurt all workers. They also say that the programs we have for workers are already taking up a lot of money. Free market supporters say that if we leave supply and demand alone the problem will be solved.

I think that we need to focus on the businesses them selves. Some businesses spend way more money than they should on operating or expenses. If we fix the businesses than we can fix a lot of Americas problems with unequal income. The income will most likely never be fair. Unequal income has been going on since the beginning of time. The wealthy will still have their ice in the summer and the middle class will get their ice in the winter. We might not be able to fix the problem completely but we can make it better.
